UPDATES

Hello!! Omg it has been so long since I wrote here. I am already almost done with my second rotation of PECT πŸ˜›Glad to say that this second rotation has been quite fruitful and meaningful.. I really learned LOTS of things. 6 weeks left so I gotta enjoy my time here!

So WFH = only go out during weekends, I mean night out on weekdays is possible too but J and I have different schedules and we'll be so tired from work/school. But it's ok! We have been cafe hunting during weekends (mostly for coffee haha, gotta admit I am slowly.... falling into the coffee addiction world πŸ€ͺ)

πŸ“Baker's Bench - really good bread/cake but meh coffee. But overall, I loved it! I'd totally go back for the bread bc I am such a sucker for bread 🍞

❤️ Here's us! Always so so so proud of you my dear. You have been working so hard and your efforts have finally paid off. Thank you for letting me part of your journey, even though sometimes I may not understand fully about what you do, I try to always be there emotionally and physically. Congratulations on your new phase in life, a step forward into the future ☺️

πŸ“The Glasshouse. Tbh I think their coffee is nice but I am quite an amateur so IDK how to describe what I taste, I just judge according to what I think is nice LOL

But!! They gave me hot even though we ordered iced :( not so cool....

πŸ“Nylon Coffee Roasters. Ok this is quite a quaint area, peaceful and quiet. Affordable and high quality coffee, one of the places that we will frequent just for the coffee!

Okie maybe one day I will write a more detailed post about internship and reflection and stuff? Honestly there's so much things going on recently, it's a little overwhelming and scary. 😭

CB Week

Phew I just ended one of the most rigorous week in y3s2 ok but not really end lah.. still need to grind for the many assignments in place of finals 😭 So I had PBCA, Journal Presentation and a PT quiz all in this week and I am feeling so so drained. Wouldn’t say I did fantastic in fact am quite disappointed because I could have done much better if not for my silly mistakes ☹️ Which explains why I am so damn thankful for the extra SUs this sem!!! (trying to look on the bright side but not rly lol) Have also been staying at home for the entire week and I rly miss J 😒 But we try not to go out and fact that we stay so far away is not helping either. Hopefully the start of circuit breaker can help the current situation and we can all be well again!! In all honesty though, this difficult time has shown the worst sides of some people, not just hoarding goods, but in other certain aspects that I witnessed. And honestly some are people I don’t expect them to be like that. Such a disappointment right? The people you expect the best became the worst. But I guess that’s life and we just gotta get used to the fact that some people are not and will not be on the same page as you. On the brighter side of this CB, I have been eating more home cooked food at home!!! My dad is an amazing cook and I rly rly rly wish he would cook everyday for us not just in this covid19 period. (i’m waiting for dinner as i type this hahahah) Spending most of my time at home also means I get to save alot more money! πŸ˜‚ And of course to spend more time with my parents... as they work from home I understand better the difficulties they face at work and I feel guilty sometimes for not being as understanding as I should be.

This weekend should also be the busiest weekend in the Catholic Church but this year... it is so so quiet. I haven’t been to church since masses stopped and can I just say that I do feel a lil empty inside... like something is missing?? As tmr is Good Friday, I hope that I can keep this sacred day in mind and to welcome Easter in our own ways. ❤️

May I have the strength and stamina to finish the last 3 weeks of my last academic semester strong ✨

22

Thanks everyone who came over to surprise me after my econs paper 😘My parents and friends were amazing actors and actresses but I got a little suspicious the day before because MY MOM actually bought a carton of POKKA GREEN TEA LOL (she does not usually buy sweet drinks) and her reason was "when people come our house got drink ma" HAHAHAH

But anyway thank you for the love and effort, especially from J who planned out everything from scratch, my parents for being so supportive and my friends who agreed to join in the fun πŸ˜‚It felt like just a while ago when I turned 21 and now suddenly I am 22??? Time flies and being 22 feels so... odd. It's like I'm adulting to support myself but I'm still young enough to be dependent??? Whatever the case, I'll get through this phase because I know all of you will be with me hehe πŸ’›My parents have been the greatest all these years and I am nothing without them.

Was supposed to go to White Rabbit for dinner with J and my parents but it RAINED so heavily and also my grandma and aunt came over so we changed location to my all time fav hotpot BITP HAHAH plus there is 30% off now!!! Super duper worth even though I've been looking forward to white rabbit!!! Guess we'll leave it till the 28th ;)

SO FUNNY my grandma knows that J LOVES the fried beancurd skin so she kept saying "he likes it, eat eat eat!!" even when J has already been eating HAHHA then my dad got so jealous he ordered another portion and placed it right in front of J and told J to eat if not my grandma will nag again HAHAHAHH aye cutie pies!!!

Thank you for the red packets and the gifts!!! ( + one more on its way hehe)

I made many many many wishes and I hope they all come true hehe

I went over to Punggol on Sunday and J's family celebrated for me too! Even though it was a day late but they still brought it up and I appreciate that thought. πŸ’—SWENSENS bc got free ice cream and the waiter gave us the free ice cream even when my actual birthday was on Sat. Always grateful that J's fam treats me as their own πŸ™†

That's it for 22nd celebration! Let me truly enjoy the oddness of 22.

Happy Valentine's Day ❤️

It's our 3rd valentine's together... but we have only been together for (close to) two years hahahah that blew my mind a little when J told me about it but that was because our 1st valentine's together, we weren't together yet πŸ˜›(you get it, right???)

We have been celebrating valentine's or any other special occasion but this time round, we contemplated quite a bit bc of the virus and what not going around. Initially we planned for a picnic at Marina Barrage but that didn't quite work out, also due to time constrains. But that's ok bc we went to Merci Marcel @ Club Street! So lucky to have secure a reservation at the very last minute bc everyone else who walked in today got rejected bc it was full house.

I guess both of us enjoyed this simple date, we ate we talked and we laughed at some memorable times and I really look forward to many more milestones and celebrations with my guy ❤️

Thanks for the roses, the food and the indefinite love you have been showering me with since day 1. I don't actually say or show my appreciation often and I do admit that sometimes I take all these blessings for granted. But when I actually think about what I have (you, family, friends etc) I am grateful. And the only way to keep all these close is to not get too comfortable. As we gradually move onto our next phase of life, know that I will always be here for you, just like how you have always been for me.

OK WHY DO I SOUND SO DEPRESSING LOL but you get my gist la πŸ˜‚I hope you liked the banana muffins I baked specially for you and my konglong card hehe. Cheers to the good and bad, and the most precious memories to come πŸ’•☺️

two thousand and nineteen

not gna lie, i l o v e d  2019. :)

no more dramas, lots of travelling to new (and old) places, new experiences, better results and independence and I give thanks to God for all of these blessings. I enjoyed my year thoroughly and I only hope for the new decade to be as wonderful or if not, fantastic. I also know that there will be ups and downs but I will pull through.

If I had only one resolution for 2020, it would be to spend more quality time with my parents bc as I am stepping into adulthood, they are getting older each year and it s c a r e s me. My only wish is for them to be healthy and happy and nothing else will be more important than that. Of course, I wrote down all of my 2020 resolutions and I really hope to achieve them. We'll check back at the end of 2020 to see :)

Happy New Year everybody! Far or near, have a good one! πŸ’—

BANGKOK BABY

Merry Christmas Eve everybody ☺ Started off the day really well and I can't wait for tonight and tmr! ANYWAY J and I just returned from our BKK trip which both of us were really looking forward to. 5D4N passed really quickly, I guess time flies really quickly when you are having fun :( But YES we had loads of shopping, eating and we enjoyed ourselves :') I'm gna miss travelling so much bc I won't be able to travel till next year end but that's ok I guess more time to save up for all the planned places!

I am quite lazy to go into the deets of what/where we ate/went so I'll just highlight some for memories sake haha.

Us about to board!

It was already close to 6pm after we settled down in the hotel so we decided to just roam nearby places our hotel.. searched on google for nice restaurants and Kosita caught my attention as it has many good reviews and it wasn't too expensive. We walked for quite a bit in the dark and just when we were about to give up, we saw it! It was apparently a house and the restaurant was just beside the house. Nevertheless, the ambience was really good, it had Bali vibes apparently.. but we were the only ones there HAHAH

Seafood Pad Thai

Chicken Green Curry

Tom Yum Goong

Basil Pork - this had a really unique taste, not something we would get back in sg. πŸ‘It is spicy too! I approve hahahah

Overall Kosita was worth the visit. I think not many people will find this place as it is quite ulu but we had one of the best dinners in bkk! Such a shame that we didn't have time to go back.

Day 2 - We started off our day getting some street food for breakfast and spent most of our day shopping πŸ›

We headed for big dog cafe in the evening! The entrance fee + gst (without any drink) was 240B iirc. Ok personally I find it quite expensive but if you think about the maintenance for the dogs, it is ok lah.

One of the nicest pic I took! Cute doggo posed really nicely hehe

The dog that looks like a walking mop HAHAH

J carried Casper!

Chow Chow might be my favourite breed SO CUTE I love!!!!

Day 3 - J's Birthday πŸ’–

Moo Krob Nai Sai for brunch. They are known for their roasted pork which J loves so we put it in our itinerary to try!

They serve many type of soups as well!

We initially ordered a large portion of meat to share among 4 of us bc we didn't know how huge the portion is but it turned out to be so mini that we had to order another large portion of meat haha. But it was 120B/portion so no complains. I loved the radish soup and pig skin though really unhealthy but am not a fan of the meat :( J liked the meat tho! We then left for Chatuchak which we spent a few hours before going back to rest for abit.

Best Beef for dinner! It is like mookata buffet and there were a HUGE crowd when we arrived but it was still pretty early so we didn't have to wait.

All 4 of us ate so much we were SO FULL bc they also had free flow ice cream!

happy tummy happy us 😊

Day 4 - more eating and shopping πŸ˜‹

Roast @ theCOMMONS

J's coffee - name which I forgot

Couldn't resist their french onion soup even though it was really quite expensive. It was amazing, very nicely cooked/baked?? $16 worth!!

The Breakfast.

Truffle Alfredo - I major love!!! The portion was also just nice, not too much bc it can get jelak.

All in all we spent about $32 each - most expensive meal in bkk!!!! But I would say it is worth the visit bc the food was outstanding! Not your normal cafe food ok!!! Would totally come back again!

On our last night, we also went for a more well-reviewed massage at Healthland Asoke. My friends have told me about it before and just nice, our friends on the trip with us also said that it was good so we decided to spend a bit more on massage!

Usually I'd go for aromatherapy massage bc I prefer oil massage but I settled for Thai massage bc I didn't have enough to spend HAHAHHA it was a difference of 400B and I wanted to use that money to buy more food back. So we paid 600B for 120mins Thai massage and I think the service + quality + ambience really did worth 600B and if you breakdown the calculations, it is only like 100B difference from the normal massage shops (assuming 250B for 60mins) Therefore I would say if you are looking for a good quality massage, just go straight to healthland!

Ok so that's about the end of our short trip! There were more places we went but I am lazy hahhaah. Thank you J, for being such a sweet travel buddy, for always taking care of me first (when I can take care of myself) HAHAH right now, let's work hard towards our 2021 dream trip and cheers to many more trips to come! πŸ’œ

Thank you skies, for awing us with your beauty once again. See you in Nov 2020 :)

J's 23rd

It's December! Which means its J's birthday month! We will be away on his actual birthday so I decided to come up with an advance birthday surprise with his close friends and family because I know how important they are to him ◡̈ Sooo I suggested that we go on a fancy date on Saturday (also bc I needa get J out of the house while his parents and friends prepare for the surprise)

Always wanted to try Atlas Coffeehouse bc it's highly raved so we arrived at about 1pm and waited for about 15 mins! I tried to get a reservation but it was fully booked. They serve mainly brunch and some "heavier" dishes for lunch. Price ranges from about $16-$25! J chose stew chicken from their lunch menu while I went for standard french toast which came with fresh strawberries and maple. And of course their coffee, me being not so coffee person, went with hot mocha and a latte for J!

Looks good and it taste really good on first bite! However the inside of the toast was a tad too soft for my liking and while I was eating I was imagining the amount of sugar this portion contains LOL so in the end I gave half to J HAHA (it's always the case, unless I really really love the food I'm having) gotta say that their mocha was really gud tho

Their stew chicken was more for my liking! The gravy was flavourful, sourdough wasn't the super sour kind and the chicken cooked just nice! $18.50 worth πŸ‘

HOWEVER I don't think I'd recommend this place :( bc with 50 bucks i think i can get much much nicer and satisfying food. Quite overrated!!!!

Hehe here's one with J ♡ The reason why we seem far apart is bc we were trying to get the right angle for the lighting HAHA

By the time we finished lunch, it was like 2.30pm so we headed to Marina Square to hunt for J's present haha. We were done shopping at like close to 5pm and my plan was to leave wherever we were for J's house at about 5.30pm since his friends were gna reach at 6pm BUT they were late so I HAD TO STALL TIME which was really difficult bc both of us were super duper tired by then and we just wanted to head home to "get dinner and netflix and chill" LOL

In the end we got Koi and after we finished it at about 6.15pm, we went home (from dhoby to punggol) luckily all of his friends were ready by then! The mini party was a success!

J's parents got Christmas-y food HAHAH like turkey, pork knuckle, ham, smoked duck and pizza. I ordered a salted caramel batman cake from Lele for J bc he major loves batman!

Some pictures from last night x

Thank you all for helping me out with this mini surprise (even tho he kinda knew bc SOMEONE accidentally spilled some beans πŸ˜’) and especially J's parents for being so supportive of my idea since day 1 haha. Thank you everyone who were there for the effort and sincerity!  I'm sure J enjoyed and appreciated all of your presence bc all of you are very important people to him πŸ’›
